When BookMyShow Crashed Harder Than My Dreams of Seeing Coldplay

We all knew this day would come—the day Coldplay announced their concert in India—and not just any city—Coldplay Mumbai! The dream! The iconic Chris Martin and crew serenade us with "Fix You" as we stand there, feeling like it’s a personal therapy session.

But no one was ready for what happened when the Coldplay tickets went on sale. We prepared. We set alarms, marked our calendars, practiced finger stretches—some of us even fasted to prepare spiritually. But when the clock struck 12:00 PM and the floodgates of BookMyShow opened... chaos. Pure chaos. Who knew the site would crash? While I couldn't even log into the site, a friend of mine told me half the tickets were gone 6 minutes into the booking? The same tickets which later showed available when people were in queue.

BookMyShow Crashes Like My Hopes and Dreams
Within minutes (more like seconds), BookMyShow collapsed under the pressure. It crashed harder than my willpower when someone offers me a second piece of cake. We refreshed, refreshed, and refreshed again, hoping for a miracle. But all we got was the spinning wheel of doom or worse—a "service unavailable" page. As if our souls weren’t already crushed by not getting those Coldplay tickets, BookMyShow decided to toy with us even more.

By the time the website came back to life, it was as if Coldplay Mumbai tickets had vanished into the void. There was no golden glow of Chris Martin’s voice, no confetti-filled paradise for us. Instead, we were left with Twitter and Instagram memes to cope. What will standing in a queue of 4 lakh people get me when there are only 50k seats?? (Feeling like a general candidate once again.)

The Ultimate FOMO
As the lucky few flaunted their Coldplay tickets on social media (seriously, how did you do it?!), the rest of us were left wallowing in the depths of FOMO. It felt like when you’re the only one in your friend group who missed a legendary party because you decided to have "an early night." Except this time, it wasn’t a party—it was Coldplay Mumbai! A once-in-a-lifetime chance to scream "Yellow" with 50,000 strangers.

Is BookMyShow Sabotaging Our Dreams?
Now, I get it—BookMyShow wasn’t exactly sabotaging us on purpose. They were probably just as overwhelmed by the Coldplay tickets madness. But let’s be real, folks, this isn’t the first time a website has imploded when high-demand tickets go on sale. We’ve seen this before: Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, IPL. The pattern is clear. Maybe next time we can get some AI bots or extra servers to handle this madness? Just saying.

The Aftermath: Re-sell or Re-mourn?
Once BookMyShow finally recovered, we were greeted by the dark side of ticket sales—the resale market. Oh yes, those Coldplay tickets suddenly appeared on third-party websites at prices that could buy you a small island. Seriously, at this point, I was considering selling a kidney to get my hands on one. But hey, we all have to draw the line somewhere, right?

expensive concert tickets

For now, we’ll just have to make do with blasting Coldplay on Spotify, pretending our living rooms are the Mumbai concert venue. We’ll hold onto the dream, and maybe, just maybe, BookMyShow will have their servers together by the time the next Coldplay tour hits Mumbai.

In Conclusion: The Concert That Wasn't
So, to everyone who managed to secure their Coldplay tickets, you are the chosen ones. Enjoy every second of Coldplay Mumbai (but please, can you send us some videos?). As for the rest of us, we’ll be here, recovering from the heartbreak, hoping BookMyShow learns a thing or two before the next big event.

Until then, may your internet connections be strong, your servers steady, and your Coldplay concert dreams alive!
